1952 Tiger great Harry Heilmann and long time Pirate Paul Waner are both elected to the Hall of Fame. Waner, the 1927 NL MVP, collected 3,152 hits while carrying a .333 lifetime batting average. Heilmann finished his career with a .342 batting average peaking at .403 in 1923 while driving in more than 100 runs in seven consecutive years.
