Silver Slugger Award
The Silver Slugger Award is given annually to the “best offensive” player at each position in each league. It is voted on by managers and coaches from each of the 30 Major League Baseball teams. Managers and coaches are not allowed to vote for players on their own teams. The award is given by Louisville Slugger. The three outfield awards are not position specific. In the National League a pitcher is given an award and in the American League a designated hitter is given an award in place of the pitcher.
